(Worthy News) – Vice President Kamala Harris’s campaign cautioned that the 2024 election results could take days to finalize, with final outcomes in some swing states possibly delayed until Saturday.
Harris’ campaign chair, Jen O’Malley Dillon, told reporters, “We believe this race is going to be incredibly close.”
“So, we may not know the results of this election for several days, but we are very focused on staying calm and confident throughout this period as the process goes through. And we really know that we as a campaign have a really important role to play in keeping people calm and communicating and being transparent about our process,” she said.
“Keep in mind that some ballots will continue to be counted for many days,” she concluded.
This year, a handful of swing states will decide the Presidential election outcome. Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania are seen by analysts as key battlegrounds.
The Harris campaign cautioned that results from Nevada might not be finalized until the weekend, as Nevada allows ballots postmarked by Election Day to arrive through Saturday. While Pennsylvania cannot begin counting provisional ballots until Friday.
Last week, Trump raised doubts about the Pennsylvania results, implying possible cheating in the critical battleground state.
The Harris and Trump campaigns are gearing up for a possible legal battle post-election, potentially leaving the question of who will lead the country for the next four years unresolved for several weeks.
