Dozens Baptized at Ohio State University Gospel Event Hosted by Ohio State Football Players

(Worthy News) – Around 60 people were baptized with 800-1,000 people in attendance at an Ohio State University Gospel event hosted by Ohio state football players on Sunday, The Lantern student newspaper reports. Those in attendance were treated to hearing the Word of God and personal testimonies, with the opportunity to give their lives to Christ.

The hosting Ohio state football players included senior running back TreyVon Henderson, senior defensive end J.T Tuimoloau, graduate wide receiver Emeka Egbuka, and former Buckeyes wide receiver Kamryn Babb, the Lantern said. A number of campus ministries and local churches also helped to organize the event.

At one point during the evening, football players began to share their testimonies, The Lantern reports. “I was just doing my thing because it was fun, and I’ll tell you this: I was on High Street, and I enjoyed it,” Babb told those in attendance.

“I had fun. But at the same time, I didn’t recognize my condition. I was spiritually dead. I was spiritually dead. I could go out there, and I could smile and laugh. I can go back to the {Woody Hayes Athletic Center}, and smile and laugh. But on the inside, I was broken. I was broken,” Babb said.

Egbuka added: “We were praying for years and years for an event like this, and we were praying with expectation — we serve a miracle-working God. So we definitely had an expectation when it came out, but God did increasingly and abundantly more than what we thought. So, we’re just so blessed and thankful.”

Event organizers had placed four large tubs of water close to the stage where the speakers stood and, during the course of the evening, dozens came forward to be baptized while hundreds of people came filing in through the evening to witness the event, The Lantern said.
