Trump, Graham Thank God For Saving Ex-President’s Life

MILWAUKEE, USA (Worthy News) – U.S. Evangelist Franklin Graham brought delegates at the Republican National Convention (RNC) to their knees spiritually, saying it was God who saved the life of former President Donald J. Trump, who later echoed those words.

“Heavenly Father, we come before you this evening with grateful hearts: Thank you for saving the life of President Donald J. Trump,” Graham said as he led the RNC into prayer.

He asked for a blessing on the Trump family, including his wife, Melania, and their son, Barron, still reeling from the assassination attempt on the former president.

Graham spoke of a nation that needed to return to its Christian roots, stressing the importance of God manifested in Christ.

He also prayed for the country’s resurgence to greatness “in the name of my Lord Jesus Christ.”

The prayer visibly impacted 78-year-old Trump, who accepted the Republican nomination for president of the United States in an emotionally charged speech. “I was not supposed to be here,” he said, prompting crowds to shout, “Yes, you are!” However, “I stand here only in this arena by the grace of all mighty God,” he said, recalling the day he was shot. “I will mention it only once because it is too painful to tell,” Trump said.

He recalled, “It was a warm and beautiful day. There was music loudly playing” on that fateful Saturday of July 13, 2024. “I began speaking about what my administration did. Behind me was a large screening about border crossings. When I turned to the right, I heard a loud whizzing sound. I said to myself: ‘Wow, what was that? My hand was in blood. Bullets were going to fly as secret service agents rushed to the stage. They pounced on me to protect me, risking their lives.”

FEELING SAVED

Yet, “I felt safe because I had God at my side. If I had not moved my head, the assassin’s bullet would have hit me, and we would not have been here together,” he recalled.

Despite the shootings, another miracle happened that day at the campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, Trump noticed. “The crowd was standing. Nobody ran, and many lives were saved because there was no stampede.”

And then, “Many thought I was dead. You can see that love all over the faces. Our secret service sniper took the assassin’s life.”

Soon after, he recalled that, with “the grace of all mighty God,” he stood up in front of the tens of thousands who came to his campaign rally. I raised my right hand and said, ” Fight, fight, fight!”

He added: “Once my right fist was up, the crowd roared. I never will forget them.”

Trump said he realized that “Just a few short days ago, my journey with you nearly ended. And yet here we are tonight, all gathered together, talking about the future, promise, and renewal of a thing we love very much. It’s called America. We live in a world of miracles. None of us knows God’s plan or where life’s adventure will take us.”

However, Trump said his near-death experience, the fact that a bullet pierced through the upper part of his right ear, made him realize God’s presence. “If the events of last Saturday make anything clear, it is that every single moment we have on earth is a gift from God,” he added.

SHIELDING FAMILY

With his ear in a bandage, he had asked for a moment of silence for Corey Comperatore, the former firefighter chief who died at his rally while shielding his wife and daughter from flying bullets fired by the gunman during Saturday’s Trump rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

Trump asked for a moment of silence after kissing his helmet, which was brought to the stage along with his uniform. Comperatore, 50, worked as a project and tooling engineer, was an Army reservist, and, after serving as chief, spent many years as a volunteer firefighter, according to his obituary.

He said he and the two other supporters attending his rally were true heroes. He said more than 6 million dollars had already been raised for the families. “But of course, money can never replace” the hero who passed away, Trump stressed.

Trump made clear that God’s strength had allowed him to continue. Earlier, he received spiritual guidance at the church of Detroit Pastor Lorenzo Sewell.

“Can you imagine President Donald Trump coming to a city and calling a pastor like me — a pastor who was born and raised on the east side of Detroit? I was mentored by murderers, I was a student of the street, but I had a radical experience with Jesus Christ that changed my life forever,” he said.

Some had condemned him for allowing Trump in the church of a traditionally Democratic district in part because of the president’s alleged personal shortcomings. “I say: who is without sin, throw the first stone,” adding that he was happy to share the Gospel with President Donald J. Trump. “It was his birthday, yet he chose to visit our church.”
