John 10:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
I read a story about a new young partner in a law firm. The senior partners had set extremely high standards and had coached him carefully. He did well in some minor trials but lost his first big case. When the partners reviewed the trial, they pointed out his errors and suggested different strategies. Even with all their critique, he lost the next big one. He felt terrible. Were they ready to give him the boot?
Amidst his uncertainty, one compassionate partner pulled him aside. With a reassuring tone, the partner said, “You’re learning from each experience. Keep pushing forward; victories will come. Your position here is solid. You’re one of us.” These words provided the encouragement he desperately needed at that moment.
As believers, we often need to encounter moments of divine reassurance, especially when we struggle. This story reflects the compassionate reassurance we sometimes need. God, in His infinite wisdom and kindness, gently reminds us, “Yes, you have made mistakes, but do not fear—your place in My kingdom is secure.”
God’s assurance of our security is a gift that sustains us daily. We must embrace this truth, allowing it to bring peace to our hearts.
When we truly grasp the depth of God’s security, we are empowered to extend similar compassion and reassurance to our brothers and sisters in faith.
Max Lucado encapsulates this beautifully: “Our task is to stand tall in God’s love, secure in our place, sparkling in kindness, surrounded by His goodness, freely giving to all who come our way.” This is a call to not only receive God’s love but also actively live it out by extending grace and kindness to those around us.
Everyone needs affirmation now and then—this is your reminder that your relationship with God is unshakable and secure despite your imperfections.

A grindstone is a revolving disk made of stone which is used for grinding, polishing or sharpening. It can commonly be seen grinding down wheat or sharpening and polishing metal for various purposes.
From the moment we were conceived we began aging, growing older by the day. We may slow down the physical aging process by exercising, eating right and other natural techniques – but we cannot ultimately stop it. This mortal flesh, our outer man, is “wasting away” and moving toward decay as we await the immortal bodies promised us in the Resurrection.
A century ago, Pyongyang, North Korea’s capital, was a thriving center of Christianity, earning the nickname “Jerusalem of the East.” The early 1900s saw rapid Christian growth, especially after the 1907 Pyongyang Revival, sparked by a meeting between Western missionaries and local believers. At its peak, about 30% of the population were practicing Christians, and the city was filled with thousands of churches.
With the war breaking out in Ukraine there is a lot of speculation that we are in the end of days with the apocalypse on the horizon. Everyone who knows me knows I’m not a gloom and doomer, that I do acknowledge the days we are living in, but remain expectant and focused on the birth of the Kingdom.
This interesting passage speaks of a time when Israel had no blacksmiths to make weapons and was without any armament to defend themselves. The enemy had succeeded to disarm Israel by removing their weapons, and those who forged them! He’s attempting the same tactic today.
The children of Israel were delivered into the hands of the Philistines for 40 years for doing evil in the sight of YHVH. Then a wonderful event takes place: an announcement to a barren and childless woman that she will conceive and bear a son. The announcement is given by one who is called “malach-YHVH”, literally “Angel (of) YHVH. This messenger, in two separate appearances, reveals God’s commandments concerning the boy to be born. At the angel’s behest, the couple offers a sacrifice to YHVH, then they ask to be told his name.
